What is Paint & Nibble?
A "social-arting" event
I call my version of group painting events Paint & Nibble because each event includes an appetizer made by, me, Peggy Markham. I also provide bottled water, plates, napkins, and utentils available and everyone is invited to bring their favorite drink, and friends, to any event!
I work hard to raise the bar on my group painting events by stepping you through an original composition and teaching you skills that seasoned artists use to create their personal works. Each artist has their own process, but many skills are common to most and it's discovering your own process that makes creating art rewarding.
Adults need fun too!
As adults we often forget that it's important to be creative, or we think we don't have time for such frivolities. But the act of creating has been proven to be beneficial to our mind, our spirit, and our health.
In the casual scene of Social-Arting classes, we encourage all students to allow themselves time to just have fun and not focus on getting it right, but enjoy the doing!
A little history about group painting events
Social-arting (similar to "socializing") is a generic term for group painting events where people get together and paint the same picture by following the instructions of the artist. Everyone is free to bring and share food and beverages of their choice and snack while painting.
Group painting events have increased in popularity since 2007. Common names include Paint Nite, Sip and Paint, Arts Uncorked, etc.
Each class includes step by step instructions and all the supplies needed to create your very own painting. No painting experience necessary...seriously!
